Staffers at The Jenzabar Foundation – a charitable and educational organization – want to reward organizations committed to tackling social issues and promoting social entrepreneurship.
The foundation’s third Annual Student Leadership Awards should do the trick: they’re giving $5000 to ten student-led campus groups that make an impact beyond their own institutions.
John Beahm, Executive Director of the Jenzabar Foundation, wrote in an email that The Campus Kitchens Project network is a good fit for these awards, which also includes a Social Entreprenuer of the Year category recognizing one outstanding student leader.
Campus Kitchens can self-nominate for community service and humanitarian efforts during the 2008/2009 or 2009/2010 academic school year here. (The Foundation asks that you first join the Jenzabar community using the referral code: SLA2010. Once registered, applicants will be advised of the submission process by email.)
Past recipients of the award include Engineers for a Sustainable World at Harvey Mudd College and The Wartburg College Feed My Starving Children Project, and many more. Nominations for this award are due by March 31.
Register, nominate, and see $5000 go toward a community garden project or crock pot program. And don’t forget about Sodexo’s Stop Hunger Now scholarships – which earn you and your Campus Kitchen funding. The deadline, February 26, is quickly approaching!
