Position Title: Catering Sales Coordinator
Department: Fresh Start Catering

General Description:
Fresh Start Catering (FSC) is a Revenue-Generating and employment development program of DC Central Kitchen (DCCK). As such, it is a vital part of the overall operation of the DC Central Kitchen. While it is a vehicle to hire and further train DCCK’s Culinary Job Training Program graduates for careers in the hospitality industry, it is also a very important public relations vehicle for the Kitchen. It is vital that this person work closely and cooperatively with the directors of the other DCCK departments so that we, as an organization, can develop and implement a coordinated strategy to improve the performance of the Kitchen.
DCCK continues to be a leader with local foods and sustainability programs while committing to environmental and nutrition education. The Fresh Start Catering Sales Coordinator interfaces with various departments to include: Kitchen Operations, Culinary Job Training, Partner Relations, Transportation, Human Resources and Finance. This position requires a high level of professional integrity with a strong ability to influence others while fundamentally “leading by example.”
Specific Responsibilities:
A:
Provide Support to the Catering Sales & Event Manager to:
Work with clients to develop events according to their specific needs, including menu development, site specifics, staffing needs, etc.
Arrange meetings with clients (tastings, site visits, etc.)
Utilize Caterease database software to accurately book, track, and invoices
B:
Marketing and Sales:
Conduct outreach to current and potential clients through on-site visits, calls/emails, and direct mail.
Perform administrative tasks, provide customer support and assist in the sales process.
Assist in building and maintaining relationship with event sites in DC Metro area
Participate in managing Fresh Start’s marketing materials
Qualifications Needed:
2-5 years experience in a position with emphasis on customer service and/or sales
Experience in a position, paid or unpaid, requiring event planning and management
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of all Microsoft programs. Desktop publishing skills, a plus.
Must have a passion for great food and customer service.
Familiarity with downtown DC Business District a plus.
A sense of humor and the ability to work in a fast-paced, often chaotic, ever-changing environment are required.
Experience or interest in a non-profit is a plus.

Position Title: IT Coordinator/Administrative Assistant
Department: Management and General
Supervisor: Office Manager

General Description: DC Central Kitchen is currently recruiting for an IT Coordinator/Administrative Assistant with strong skills in computer maintenance and network administration to work with our contracted technical support team to maintain our network system. The person must be able to work full-time must be able to travel to our various locations in the Washington, DC area.
Specific Responsibilities:
A. Provide network administration services to our base location and all other locations in the DC Area.
B. Coordinate external IT support by gathering information and all IT problems weekly and communicating needs to external IT staff professionally.
C. Upgrades, installs and troubleshoots networks, networking hardware devices and software
D. Maintains inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of vendor activities.
E. Maintain the office telephone systems and cell phone systems
F. Provide hardware and software support to all departments
G. Provide additional data management support for all DCCK programs as needed.
H. Maintain system backup, system firewalls, and virus protection.
I. Maintain various office equipment, office telephone and voicemail, printers, scanners, and fax machines.
J. Place calls, online orders and coordinate visits with office equipment vendors. Maintain good relationships and be the main point of contact for vendors.
K. Use presentation software programs such as MS PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat to create presentations for meetings and events. The IT Coordinator may also edit material and provide basic instruction to presenters on how to use a particular program.
L. Solicit donations for useable computer equipment
M. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Needed:
Project Management experience is a plus.
Must be extremely organized.
Must have excellent hands on IT knowledge and the ability to provide advanced IT office support to our 100+ staff.
Requires strong computer and Internet research skills, including strong experience with MS applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher) and document creation software such as Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
Experience working with a diverse staff.
Experience or interest in a non-profit is a plus.
