Gleaning Trip 8-7-2010
August 19, 2010 – 3:17 pmA few Saturdays ago, a group of Camput Kitchen LT members went gleaning at First Fruits Farm, an amazing non-profit Christian Minisitry that grows produce on its 80 acre farm solely for charities who feed the hungry. Check them out at http://www.firstfruitsfarm.org/
We had a very successful trip, helping to finish the sweet corn harvest.
Campus Kitchens was able to take back 450 lbs of sweet corn and 20 lbs of beans, which we then donated to our community partner, The Franciscan Center, for them to use in their meals.
