Meeting Recap

February 8, 2012 – 10:54 pm
Thank you everyone who came out to the general body meeting last night and
to Karma Cream!

For those of you who missed it, we have made a lot of announcements, here
they are!

   1. General introduction to CKUF, our goals and purposes. For more
information, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juV8i-vX7Kc or
   visit our website at http://campuskitchens.org/schools/ufl/

 2. You can volunteer for any of our normal operation shifts, cook
shifts, delivery shifts, or pick up shifts, through this form here:
   https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEZQNVlfVkU2a1huVDJkYTZaYWF3R2c6MA

      * We are especially in need of volunteers for the delivery shift
TOMORROW, February 9, at 2:00 PM. Contact Rachel Hoffman at **
rhoffman@ufl.edu* <rhoffman@ufl.edu>*. You do not have to drive for this
   shift.*

Delivery shifts are an excellent way to get involved quickly because
we get to visit our clients and see exactly who it is that this food that
we prepare goes to. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in
   getting involved.

   3. Other involvement opportunities: If you would like to get more
involved in our organization, consider one of the following opportunities:
    1. *Nutrition Education Presentations* - February 24th at 4:00 PM. We
will be going to one of our clients to teach a lesson about nutrition, or
healthy living. You do not need to have experience with children or
teaching. We will provide all the materials. These opportunities
will come monthly and are a great way of interacting with our clients.
Email Stefanie Rivera at smrivera@ufl.edu if interested
      2. *Advertising committee* - Help with flyering, tabling, and
promoting CKUF on campus. We would be nothing without our volunteers!
      Contact Taylor Pool at tayypool@yahoo.com
      3. *Fundraising committee* - helps raise money to ensure that we have
consistent meals to give to our clients. They have had ideas like bake
sales, the Karma Cream fundraiser, and March Matchness. If you have good
ideas or would like to be involved with this team, email Nathan
      Githens at ngithens@ufl.edu
      4. *Videographer needed* - If you are interested in helping to make a
new promotional video for CKUF, email us back at
      ufcampuskitchens@gmail.com
      5. *Community Dinner* - This semester we will be having a community
dinner for one of our clients. It is a way we can give a litte more than
normal and raise awareness about poverty in the "off" months of normal
charity. This will include a large dinner and games for the community. We
need a committee to help with the details. If you are
      interested, email us at ufcampuskitchens@gmail.com

 4. *T Shirts!!!* Attached to this email are two potential tshirt
designs. If you are interested in purchasing a tshirt, we will have voting
   on our volunteer form:
   https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEZQNVlfVkU2a1huVDJkYTZaYWF3R2c6MA

This is a non binding commitment, we just want to gage interest.

 5. *Leadership Team* - Later this week we will be sending out
information about leadership applications for the 2012-2013 school year. Be
thinking about how you want to be more involved in Campus Kitchens. It's a
great way to get involved and stay involved.
      1. We have positions open in our Operations, External Relations,
Internal Relations, Administration, and Finance sections of CKUF.

If you have questions about anything or would like to get more involved but
aren't sure how, feel free to email us at ufcampuskitchens@gmail.com

Have a wonderful week!
