I Wanna Be an LT Baby…
August 16, 2010 – 10:32 amYes, todays classy title comes from a Kid Rock song because that’s just how we roll here at CKUMB. I apologize if you’re offended.
This semester the Leadership Team is going to be shaped a bit differently than it was last semester. My approach to leadership previously has been, “Ok – let’s get it done … scramble, scramble, scramble, and BREAK!” While understandably not the best way to manage, we had to work with what we had: four dedicated people and no idea what we were doing. This semester we have 11 amazing students on the LT and organized plans for what we want to happen and what this will look like. We’re learning!
Within the Leadership Team, I’ve created 5 executive board positions:
- Kitchen Manager
- Client Delivery Manager
- Volunteer Coordinator
- Food Resourcing Manager
- Fundraising & Special Events Coordinator
Leadership Team members will fill these roles – I think it’s helpful for them to know exactly what their responsibilities are and what is expected of them. It also lightens the load generally and we all know what we are individually responsible for. I made these to offer guidance and organization:
Each LT member within these specific roles receives a handy dandy binder detailing duties, paperwork, incident reports, etc. They’re organized by tabs (because I know you care):
See? Now you can make a binder, too! We have a Leadership Team meeting today and believe that I am excited to show these off. It’s truly the little things during the day that can get a girl excited. Tomorrow, we’ll be sharing updates on our carnival, so keep a weather eye out (name that movie).
